Old Kirk, Kirkcaldy
Central Fife

Marvel at the Old Kirk's beautiful stained glass by famous artists, browse our exhibition on Adam Smith and relive the celebration earlier this year of his baptism in the Auld Kirk 300 years ago in 1723.
Climb the tower with one of our guides for panoramic views of the town and out to sea, and listen to the bell, first cast in 1553. Tour the graveyard to hear "Stories from Stones " about the famous and not-so-famous people buried there - the two duellists of the last fatal duel in Scotland, the butler who became Provost because of a whale, the first world war soldier who made it through the trenches only to succumb in the last days of the war.
Teas and coffee will be available for a small donation and children can take part in a quiz around the church.
Kirkcaldy Old Kirk is now owned by a local Trust who are maintaining it for the community as a community venue and heritage centre. You will meet some of its volunteer members in the Kirk as guides.
