School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee
Dundee

The School of Life Sciences is an iconic building in Dundee, visible for many miles. The 900 staff who work there carry out world-leading research.
This year we’re celebrating 25 years of the Wellcome Trust Building, with its fabulous spiralling staircase and breath-taking views. The building also hosts LifeSpace Science Art Research Gallery on the ground floor, and the WeeCAIR Medicinal Garden at its entrance.
The School of Life Sciences sits high over the city of Dundee, but what really goes on inside the building?
For Doors Open Day we’ll be in our WeeCAIR Medicinal Garden for the whole time, exploring the fascinating research in the building. We’ll also offer timed tours, which will give you the opportunity to see not only the science inside, but also our links to the creative arts too, particularly through LifeSpace Science Art Gallery.
For Doors Open Days there will be tours at 12 noon, 1pm, and 2pm, meeting at the LifeSpace entrance.
For Health and Safety purposes, we can’t welcome anyone under 16 into our actual lab spaces, but we’ll have some tours which don’t include them.
