Edinburgh Open Workshop is a not-for-profit, social enterprise created for the Edinburgh community to have a place to make and get messy. We are built on a pay-as-you-go model – offering membership-based access to a fully equipped wood, metal, paint, and textiles workshop. We also have long term resident maker space, art studios, along with a creative learning and outreach program of classes and workshops.

Learn about all our offerings from our extensive course program, outreach scheme, long term resident maker and artist studios. Please sign in at reception and allocate 30 minutes for the tour.

Make a Planter
Walk-in - 30 minute workshop assemble a window planter box, as you have a go at woodworking. The Activity is Free or suggested donation of £2. If you would like to personalise your planter, you can get your name (or simple chosen image) laser engraved for an additional £2. This workshop is suitable children 10+ (with parent) and is also great fun for adults. Workshops held at:
