HUNTER, Thomas Peck, VC, RM (RM 43 Commando) Memorial

Thomas Peck Hunter VC, RM was 21 years old when he died on 03-Apr-1945 from wounds suffered during "Operation Roast", World War Two Battle at Lake Comacchio, Italy. Thomas Hunter was awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) posthumously for his supreme valour in the face of the enemy. King George VI presented his VC to his parents at a private investiture, Palace of Holyroodhouse, September 1945.Thomas Hunter attended Stenhouse Primary School & Tynecastle High School. This year is particularly poignant as its the centenary of Thomas Hunter's birth on Fri-06-Oct-2023.
Guided "walk & talk" tours at & around memorial at the following times :-
- (i) 11:00hrs to 11:30hrs ;
- (ii) 11:45hrs to 12:15hrs ;
- (iii) 12:30hrs to 13:00hrs ;
- (iv) 13:15hrs to 13:45hrs ;
- (v) 14:00hrs to 14:30hrs ;
- (vi) 14:45hrs to 15:15hrs ;
- (vii) 15:30hrs to 16:00hrs.
