North Coast Visitor Centre
Highland – Caithness & Sutherland

The North Coast Visitor Centre is a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the county of Caithness. Our permanent exhibitions focus on the historic inhabitants of northern Scotland, the Picts & Vikings; the Flow Country and its unique natural treasures; local celebrity Robert Dick; the nuclear power plant at Dounreay and its impact on the county. In addition we host various temporary exhibitions.
Come along this Doors Open Days where visitors will have the opportunity to view a display of objects from the museum stores, either objects that are rarely put on display, or objects still in secure packaging that is rarely seen outside of stores. The Collections Officer will hold presentations about Collections work, giving insight into how museums handle their objects.
