Wemyss Bay Station
Inverclyde
In Person

Wemyss Bay has a category A-listed railway station and pier built by the Caledonian Railway in 1903 that harmoniously brings together a variety of architectural styles. The building is particularly known for its dramatic semi-circular concourse with the fine glazed roof springing from the central booking office. An exhibition in a former waiting room illustrates the history of the station, which was voted Britain’s best loved in 2023.
For Doors Open Days there will be guided tours of the station at 11am, 12 noon, and 2pm. There also will be a quiz for children about the station, available from the station bookshop between 10:00 am to 4.00 pm.
